I believe that new experiences make wonderful gifts. As with our previous birthdays, we decided to celebrate by doing something we’ve both never done before. So for Joel’s birthday this year, we became archers for a day! #SurpriseBirthdates
I apologize in advance for the lack of photos of the place. We were running low on battery. Hehe.
The Kodanda Archery Experience:
You are given 5 arrows and start off with a target that is only 5 meters away. The staff will guide you through your first few shots and teach you the ropes if it’s your first time. The whole process is extremely beginner-friendly. However, pulling the bowstring and actually taking the shot was no walk in the park for me. We were told that the resistance was equivalent to 15 lbs!!! Yeah, I’m weak. I know.
I was able to hit the yellow (center) target during my first shot (yay!), but I guess I just got lucky cause I had several bad shots as well. Oops. In the one hour session, you can fit in about 10 sets with 5 arrows/shots per set. If you’re feeling like Legolas and you want more of a challenge, the Kodanda staff is more than willing to move your targets further.
For P550, you get to rent the lane for an hour, inclusive of a bow, arrows, safety gear, and basic instructions.
You just need to pay an additional P30 for the target paper, which isn’t necessary but highly recommended if you are a beginner.
If you have your own gear, the range rental per hour is only P200.
Archery lessons are offered at P6,000 for 10 one-hour sessions.
They also sell bows, arrows, and other archery gear.
Normal clothes are fine. The only requirement is to wear rubber shoes or sneakers! 🙂
