After dessert at A Taste of Heaven Milkshake Hub, we decided to have lunch at Friuli’s.
It took a while before we actually got to order because there were so many pizza choices (and there were actually more than two veg-friendly ones yay!) We settled for the mushroom pizza (P 185). It was pretty good but I think it would have been better if we ordered one of the bestsellers. Rookie mistake on my part. The price was puwede na because they were pretty generous with the ingredients (especially the cheese! Yum!)
Since I was feeling sick and was pretty much stuffed with the milkshakes, pasta was out of the question. It was a pretty good call too because the person on the other table ordered pasta and it was big (good for two people or one really hungry person haha). It looked pretty good though. So maybe next time.
The onion soup (P80) got our attention so we decided to order that instead. Unless you feel like eating a stick of butter melted in hot water, I would not recommend this. Joel loves butter but this was way too much, even for him. Exagge. There were also chunks of mozzarella and bread in the soup. I don’t know if that’s how they do things in Italy, but damn that was weird. It’s a shame because the serving size was pretty big and I think it could have been good if it didn’t have so much butter in it.
The interiors were nice & quaint. Unlike a lot of the restaurants in Maginhawa, this did not have an ‘artsy’ feel to it. They had a mix of metal and monobloc chairs, checkered table cloths, and Italian music (which the waiters would try to sing. Haha)
Overall, it was a good experience. I read up on the reviews of the bestsellers and they were pretty good, so I’ll probably come back and try them. If ever you decide to visit, I suggest sticking to pizzas and pastas (and stay away from the onion soup)/
